A look back at the Bloomberg Invest conference

Dear customers,

We had the pleasure of taking part in the Bloomberg Invest 2024 conference in New York this week, a flagship event that brings together leaders in asset management, banking, private markets and wealth management. This edition was particularly rich in insights and perspectives.

Themes of 2024

- Strategic discussions :

We attended in-depth discussions on market strategies, CIO perspectives and fund managers' views. These exchanges enabled us to validate our expectations of current and future market dynamics.

- The role of AI in Portfolio Management :

The experts shared several interesting indicators on the integration of artificial intelligence into portfolio management. We explored how AI can optimize investment decisions and improve performance, something we are already doing at Pratte and which enabled us to verify that our approach remains avant-garde.

- Next Great Market and Geopolitical Risks :

The discussions on geopolitical risks and their potential impact on markets were particularly relevant. This enables us to anticipate and identify geopolitical risks more proactively. The biggest risk being an invasion of Taiwan by China, which would bring a fairly significant chain of repercussions to the market, especially in the manufacturing and microchip sectors.

- Investment in sports :

One of the major themes this year was investment in the sports sector, a fast-growing field offering interesting opportunities for those with access to this type of investment, which can be compared to art in its rarity.

- Private equity and private credit opportunities:

We explored current opportunities in private equity and private credit, sectors that continue to show signs of growth and high returns. Rising interest rates have shifted corporate financing to the private market, which in turn offers more flexible financing solutions, resulting in strong growth in the sector.

- Environment for M&A transactions :

Discussions also focused on the changing environment for mergers and acquisitions, with an outlook on the most active sectors, which should be reinvigorated by future interest rate cuts.

- Economic outlook and central bank policies :

Economic forecasts and central bank policies were widely discussed, providing us with indicators of the future direction of monetary policy. We also noted that the subject of the number of rate cuts in the coming year is very varied. The US economy remains resilient, providing a favorable environment for companies and growth.

In short, we had fruitful discussions and meetings, validating several points at the event. This new information will enable us to refine our investment strategies and better navigate today's complex economic environment.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss how these trends might affect your portfolio, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Philippe and the Pratte team
